Six Months Post Placement Already

I cannot believe it's almost been six months. She is growing too fast. We had our visit with the SW last night. She was awesome. So easy to talk to. The hardest question.....What is it like being a mother? When I opened my mouth to try to describe this indescribable feeling, I start crying. Then Susan started crying. We both got it together and were able to continue:) Everything did go well and Sophie was a little charmer. She had a two hour nap and was all smiles!

Levi's First Birthday

It's hard to believe he's already a year old. He changes every time I see him. There was an awesome John Deere Cake and well I'll post some more pics soon, but imagine a gorgeous blonde haired, blue eyed, GREEN one year old! He was ADORABLE! He got alot of boy toys. I'm so used to seeing pink, green was kinda refreshing. Sophie's favorite toy was the wagon. (see below) The kids had a great time. Now I just hope this year will slow down a bit. This kids are growing too fast!

Grieving Hearts

Yesterday was one of the most emotional days I've had in a while. I am one that tries very hard to be reserved, hold things back, until I'm alone. When our Pastor announced that he was leaving, I knew I needed to get out right then and though you could hear the sorrowed hearts around the whole church, I was determined to hold my own. My eyes swelled as we said our goodbyes. I felt like I couldn't find the right words. Until yesterday I didn't realize just how attached I had become to this wonderful family. I know God is in control and that he has something awesome instore for Pastor David. He is truly a man of God and has so much passion for the lost. He is an awesome leader, pastor, and preacher. He and his family will be very much missed.

No More Chicken Noodle!

Just thought I'd do a quick little post. The "Bug" decided to pay a visit to our home the past couple of weeks. Sophie was just pitiful. She carried a low grade fever for a few days, started feeling a little better, then I got it! Thankfully I was able to kick it in a couple of days. Neither of us are at the top of our game yet, but feeling much better. Seems like every body's catching something this year. Hope everyone has an awesome Valentine's Day!

This is just too cute!!!

Life with Sophie

This child of mine never ceases to mesmerize me. She picks up on things so fast. It's takes about one day to teach her something new. She can tell you how old she is by just pointing her one little finger at you, you clap and say yeah and she puckers up her little lips to give you a big kiss. (heart melts) She is walking very well now and trying her hand at climbing. So mommy is always on guard. She has such a lively spirit. Oh and in church last Sunday during worship, she always claps her little hands, but his Sunday she was just a singing and raising her hands. ( the whole time) Now she was looking to she who was watching her, which was just about anyone who could see the little ham, but she was just adorable. The after worship service we went back to the nursery and she was doing very well so mommy was able to go back to the service. She has stayed once before, but this time she already had that morning nap that makes her such a happy baby. She has so many smiles, and so many "other" faces, too. She's going through that I want it stage. Home chic will throw a hissie fit in a fast second if she's not getting her way and although she listens when we say no, she does protest. Ya know come to think of it, I didn't grow out of that until I was about 19. Hum....no let's not think about it. Each and everyday with her is pure joy. There are times when you want to pull your hair out because she "protest" too much, but I wouldn't trade this job for anything in this world. She is a dream come true!
