Rain, Rain, Rain

Now, I hate to complain, after the drought that we have had, BUT com'on. Last week was such a tease. I want more sunshine! Looks like we might see some Thursday. Well, March really did come in like a lion this year, so I guess here comes those April Showers. We did plant some Azaleas, Japanese Maples, and Gardenias Saturday, so all this wetness should make them happy. I really hope they make it. We put a huge (taller than me) gardenia by the bedroom windows. That should smell wonderful this summer. My azaleas are starting to bloom, I can't wait to see all that color. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year!!!

Kinda Quite

Sorry guys. Not much new info today. I'm not accomplishing much either. I can't believe we are only a few months away from referral and each month it gets harder to tear myself away from RQ. I'm gonna wear out the Refresh Button. But the next few batches can determine whether we are June, July, or August. I know that's just a few extra months, but I am so tired of waiting. And I so didn't want to be in China in August, (hot, humid) but oh well, I can handle a little heat. I just wanna go!!!

Let's Talk LID's

By now most of you know that LID stands for log in date. That is the day our dossier was logged in to China's system. One of the things that drew me to China's IA program was stability. The fact that once approved you are in line. What a line it's been!!! But we are in line and close to the front of it. As of date the CCAA has referred through Jan. 4th 2006. Our agency, CCAI, has posted a calender showing the dates that their families are logged in . Our agency's Jan LID's are: 11th 16th 23rd 24th 27th !
Right now we are hearing that the 10th is in. If the 10th is the cut off then our agency will not receive any referrals for April. So let's pray that the CCAA has a get'r done kinda month!

Memories

So, Daddy was cleaning out the old office this weekend and found another old shoe box full of pictures. My grandaddy loved taking pictures and boy I'm I glad he did. This box was more of the 80's. It brought back so many memories. Ironically this weekend, everyone was telling stories about when they were 7, 8, 9 years old and I could not even picture myself at that age, nor could I tell you what I was doing then. Now, I remember! Bike riding, hullahoops, playing pretend!!! That's what we were doing!!! I remember the grapevine and pear tree. Oh yeah and climbing the Silver Maple. Those were the days. We would pick wild flowers and Imogene would fryem' in the pan. (nasty) But we did it anyway. The green grass in the field, the blue sky, swimming at Sans Souci. It was public then. Karla and I used to go crawdad fishin'. We'd take the canoe down that old canal and never even thought about a snake or nothing!! Man, I'm gettin' teary eyed now. It seems like a life time ago!

Stressed!!

OK, so we all have it to some degree. And Lord knows I've had my share this year. But why is it women stress more than men. It's really not suppose to be that way. We have taken on WAY too much. It seems our gender is prone to worrying more, because we over think things. God knows how we work. That is why He stated that men are suppose to lead. That's right, the men! We have manipulated "the taken over of the reigns!" We are not suppose to be "wearing the pants." Now I know alot of women do not agree with me, but oh well. It is God's will for us to be submissive. His role for us as wives and the role of husbands, play hand in hand. And together, wow, what a difference it makes in a home. Now knowing this and having lived it, why is it so hard to get back there. I'm not really a control freak, but I do like knowing where things stand. And it seems so easy to hand things over to Our Father when I have no control over the situation. Or let my DH do it, when I can't or don't know how. It seems if I have a little bit of influence on how I think things should turn out, then I'll handle it.

RQ's Latest Projections

So, I called CCAI yesterday to let them know we've been re fingerprinted and to try to pull some info out of them. Didn't work. They are so tight lipped. They did say that June referrals would be able to travel before the Olympics. Which I already assumed that, I wanted to know about July referrals. They said they have not heard anything from the CCAA. If they are going to do things differently they are expecting to hear after the May Holiday, so I'll just have to wait. Or just maybe they'll speed up enough to get me a June Referral. That's what I'm talking a'bout!

Big Ticket Items

I have yet another list. This one is those items that are a little on the pricey side. I purchase one a month. Last month was the gate. I got one for the 5 foot opening between the kitchen and living room. BTW, didn't paint the kitchen this weekend.

Our next purchase will be the baby carrier. I've been looking at this one for three years. Now I'm finally gonna get it. You can find it at:

www.walkingrockfarm.com

All the reviews have been good. It'll come in handy not just in China, but when I get back to T&W.

Country Girl

I am most definitely a country girl. We went to Norfolk yesterday, made one wrong turn and OMG!!! It took us 1 1/2 HOURS to back on track and find the office. It didn't help that we were in rush hr traffic. I was STRESSED. Did we do any shopping, well, we did stop at Pet Smart. It was right off of Military Blvd. Not too bad. But I was just ready to get home. I sincerely hope this is the last time we have to do fingerprints or anything else, but go get Sophie.

JANUARY BABIES!!!

Here are a couple of blogs listed with pics of the precious babies!

Due to the unauthorizied use of YouTube footage and blog posts, I will no longer post links to "Babies" on my blog. If AP's want to go public with their blog with referral pics, they can be found at www.chinaadopttalk.com

Changing MY Box

With the CCAA taking away their box, it seems it is taking a while to confirm cutoffs. Since the "Jan Room" folks are starting to get "the Call" and no one is Jan. 5, I'm assuming the 4th is the cut off. If anything changes I will be Happy to change my box. So that is 8 days. That's kinda where I thought it would be. Now just to give you a heads up, next month I'm thinking 6 days. Just because of the # of PAP's logged in on those dates and of course if it goes passed that, I'll be happy it admit I am wrong.
