We Have TA's

Good news! Today we received Travel Approvals! With the arrival of Travel Approvals today, we have are hoping to travel to China during mid-September. This estimate to travel during mid-September will only be confirmed once we receive confirmed Consulate appointments. The Consulate can take 1-6 business days to reply. Let's do the happy dance!! And pray for a September appointment!!!

Levi's Dedication

Well Saturday was all about our little Sophie and Sunday was all about our little Levi. Levi was dedicated to the Lord on August 24th 2008.

Then little children were brought to Jesus, that He might put His hands on them and pray; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But He said, Leave the children alone! Allow the little ones to come to Me, and do not forbid or restrain or hinder them, for of such [as these] is the kingdom of heaven composed. And He put His hands upon them, and then went on His way. ~ Matthew 19: 13-15(Amp)
I was so very proud to see my brother and SIL make a commitment before the Lord to submit their son to God's will and to raise Levi according to God's Word. It was so obvious the love they have for each other and their son. The preacher even commented on the love of Jesus radiating from Levi's eyes. Such a young family already knowing what a precious gift from God they have received. Knowing that the church is a critical part of their survival in this world as a family. Lord, thank you for this family. Bless them. Give them the wisdom and strength they need to raise this child in your ways.

A "Sophie" Shower

A "Sophie" Shower

Close family and friends got together and gave us a "Sophie Shower" last Saturday. They put a oriental garden twist on the shower and paid a lot a attention to detail. We even had Chinese donuts. It was so nice. I really enjoyed seeing everyone and got lots of goodies for Sophie. She is one loved child! We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. I did really well with controlling my emotions until the girls started cleaning up! (pass the tissues please) Their hearts were so in the right place. I could feel the love gleaming from them and it was just overwhelming. What have I done to deserve all this. Thank you Lord for your many blessings.

Brain Overload

Since last Tuesday, it's been like crazy. Taking everything in, getting Sophie's care package out, making sure our acceptance letter was on it's way. I think I sometimes, maybe, just a little, worry too much!:)
Friday I spent the day researching Sophie's birth place. Chongqing, P.R. China is located in the southeastern section of the Sichuan basin . Known as Mountain City, Chongqing is located between the Yangtz River (Golden river) and the Jialing River. Sophie is at the Qianjiang District Social Welfare Center. It has been very hard to find recent information on this SWI. I do know that they received a clean water system in May of 2007 and that they have four baby rooms. Two on the fourth and two on the fifth floor. I have located pictures that were taken in 07' . It seems to be clean and alot nicer than some other orphanages I have found pics from.




I have a lot to accomplish this week so my blog will probably take a back burner for now, but when I get those updated pictures, I'll definitely post.

Great News

Our acceptance letter has arrived at our agency in Colorado. Which in return will be going out TODAY to CHINA!!!! Please everyone, pray for speedy travel!!!

Complete Wonderful Bliss

Oh my goodness. The last couple of days have been surreal. Just look at that adorable face. I could have never completely imagined this feeling. Sophie has me completely. I wanna hear her laugh, watch her sleep, hold her when she cries. I worry about her. Are they watching her enough, is she hungry. I'm mailing her care package today. Hoping it will get there soon.

I would like to thank everyone for all the kind words and blessings. You all have been such a HUGH support through this looong wait. Please pray for our little Sophie. Pray that she will be safe and healthy . And that the Lord will prepare her heart for us. That he will give her peace.

The most wonderful gift anyone could receive..... Our Father has blessed us with this precious child.

Sophie loves music and is very alert. She can hold her head up and roll over. She's a deep sleeper. (moma's girl!!) And loves doing baby exercises. More details and pictures tomorrow!!

One More Day

We made it through the weekend. We started our weekend watching the opening ceremonies, of course. What a way to spend our last weekend with out that little face. We are almost there. I really want to thank my family and friends who have been there for me. This wait has certainly taking it's toll on me emotionally. For those of you that educated yourself on China's adoption process just so you could understand me. It was so wonderful to be able to talk to people who not only loved me but that understood. To get the right kind of compassion. So , again Thank You and I love you guys so very much. To know that Sophie is already loved so much, there are no words to express my gratitude.
As far as today, there are rumors of calls starting . That will make Tuesday OUR DAY. Please, Please pray for me. I do not want to open the email until William is with me. It is very important to me that we see our daughter for the first time, together. I have an appointment tomorrow at 2:00 that will help kill some time. As soon as William and I process every thing I will post her picture here to share with all of you.

Thank you Lord for loving me, for giving me this overwhelming peace, and for always being there.

08/08/08

Here we are. The day China has been preparing for. The chance to show the world that they are not a Third World Country any more. At the same time the day that I have been dreaming of is about to arrive. This weekend brings much emotion. With the whole world's eyes on China, my daughter's information is coming over the oceans to reach us next week. There's relief, a huge amount of anticipation, and at the same time a complete numbness. I really can't explain it. Tonight I plan to watch the Opening Ceremonies in celebration of my daughter's country. This will truly be a time never to be forgotten.

My agency has now confirmed that matches have been mailed. They expect to receive the package early next week. So you guys can give the refresh button a rest for a little while.

Update #2

Apparently in Spain Families go through the Spanish Government to adopt from China. (no agencies) It is called AFAC and they have posted on their site that the cutoff is the 27th.

Update # 1

Bare with us as we grasp for rumors. Apparently our computer translator has lead us to believe packages left on 8/4. Some locals are translating it as packages arrived in Spain on 8/4. If that is the case I can't really see referrals being in them. This is definitely an unsure month. I have a strong feeling this roller coaster has some major drops and turns close to the end!!!

Spanish site says package left on 8/4. If it's referrals we could hear as early as today!!!!!!!!!!!!!................the cutoff. Remember our agency normally calls the day after so that they have time to make sure everythings ok.

Nothing New

Just thought I'd put that out there. The only thing we are hearing is that a couple of agencies have informed their 2/6/06 Lids that they will probably not make this batch. I'm ready to hear that the Stork is in the air!!!!!

Hangin' In There

It's Monday Things are quiet, which I expected them to be. The Spanish site is saying they expect to hear about the cutoff tomorrow. So far, I'm holding my own. We're working in Holden's Bathroom, so that keeps me from hitting the refresh button 24/7. I'll keep you guys updated.
