Six Word Memoirs

Jumped online to check out some RQ and we've been tagged by Ruth and Dave over at "bringing up daisies....."

This means that I must come up with something creatively unique in just 6 short words - summing up our life at this current state. Here goes:

"Shopping- takes on a new meaning!"

OR

"Life is good, come on referrals"

OR

"Let's see that cutoff date soon"

OR

"Well, that's all for right now"

The rules:
You need to describe your life in 6 words, link back to me, and then tag another 5 people. Leave them a comment to let them know they are tagged. We tag:

His Eyes and My Nose
Raspberry Chip
What Wuz I Saying?
Lupus Pie
just the baby and me.....and Daddy too.

RQ UPDATE: NOTHING YET!!!

Matching Has Begun!!!

I know I've been quite this week. I'll be on vacation next week and I'm trying to make sure everything is taking care of. I've ordered supplies for the Motel and I think most of the Equipment Rental stuff is done. I will need to get those books done too. Any way, here we are. Matching has begun. We could see referrals next week. Now keep in mind, we have like a 50/50 chance of making it in this batch. I won't be near a computer, BUT after 3 years of waiting, it would be awesome if DH and I were together when we get "The Call". I will be taking my "The Call List" with us. Just in case!!!

The Mysterious Matching Room

Could our dossier be on the way to the matching room! Oh I sure hope so!!! So here's how it works:

They count up all of the baby dossiers for that month and then look to see how far this stack will go in the parent dossiers without sending out a partial day, and they pull all of those parent files. That is usually the cut-off date.

Then they match orphanages with agencies. This orphanage has four babies, this agency has four families. These two orphanages are in the same province and have a total of ten babies, this agency has ten families.

Now they start matching individual babies to individual families. It is said that alot of effort goes into matching the babies with the right family. We have heard that the matcher's look at facial structure, uses astrology, looks at birthdays, they try to make a connection in one way or the other. There are lots of BTDT's that are just in awe of how well their child fits with the family! Please pray that God's hand will be in this and that He will match us with our little Sophie.

Battle Wounds of Motherhood!

Today started off ok. Had plenty to do here getting ready for inspections. I also had a small list of to-do's from my "pre-referral list". The first was to make an appointment with a pediatrician. OK went to crap. I called and got the "we only take new borns". I explain the situation and that she will only be around 9 months. "Sorry." What's up with that! I'm not asking them a take a child who already has a Doc. It's not like she's five years old. And she is a newborn, to me, in my heart and you want to be all snotty! Well, the lack of compassion took me off guard and I did not really reply. Not like I wish I had. It actually brought tears to my eyes at first. To think that someone would reject my Sophie! Next emotion.....one HOT MOMA!!! You mean to tell me after 10 years of trying to become a family, that we're getting penalized for the way we chose to become one. You ignorant little twit!! ...................That lasted most of the afternoon. Now I am trying to reflect. Am I over reacting?? It wasn't personal. She doesn't even know me. But then again she should have handled the situation differently.
For those of you wondering....everything does happen for a reason. I found an excellent pediatrician that handles international adoption and has herself adopted from Russia! (I just didn't want to drive an hour.)

Daddy's Day!

We had a great time this weekend. We decided to cook for Daddy at my house Saturday.( He's strapped to the Motel on Sunday's) We wanted to enjoy a day at the pool and I did not want to be cooking the whole time. I was able to get most of it done early so that I could enjoy every ones company. We actually ended up with a few extra heads that evening. (four kids) We had a blast, to say the least. At the end of the evening Grandaddy got some time with Levi who was already dressed for bed.

NEXT????

That is the question. The cutoff is the 20th, the 21st and 22nd were weekends so there was no one logged in on those dates anyway. But I still would rather say 5 LID's to Go instead of 7. RQ is reporting a early rumor of a big July batch.
Here's the deal. Be very patient with me as my emotions will be all over the board this month. You see after 3 years of waiting, my dream of becoming a mother is finally coming true. One minute, I'm on top of the world. The next, I'm wondering, well if we see Sophie in July, will I have to wait until after the Olympics (bad word!!!) to go get her. This morning has been good. I've been shopping for those travel essentials. I ordered some goodies for her orphanage too!!Now, I'm trying to decide on her care package. I think I'm gonna go with Blessed Kids. One less thing I'll have to worry about. And the price is pretty good too! Whether it's July or August there's so much to do!!

Time to Wake Up!

As I started surfing the net this morning, I am reminded that it is time to get my head out of the clouds. We could be next! It's time to get going on some lists. Alyson & Ford posted a link to a great packing list. Informed Adoption Advocates also have some really good To Do Lists. Below is "The Call Questions" that were posted in the Jan. Room. Doing alot of printing this morning. I also started on the list for the baby shower. So I'm working on it.

I know the call questions are kinda hard to read. If you need a copy, I'll be happy to email it to you. Yippe!!! I'm so excited!

Take Action

I was so glad to receive an e-mail from OneMillionMoms.com about that new show airing on CBS. Just the commercials are offensive to me. More filth coming into our homes and destroying our families. The first episode of Swing Town aired June 5th and here are just some of the scenes that could be found in just the first show:

· Two young boys get caught looking at pornographic magazines by one of the boy's father. His response was, "Don't let your mother catch you with this" and hands the magazine back to the boy.
· At a party in a neighbor's home, one woman continues to ask the host and another guest for "coke" (heroin).
· The host offers Quaaludes to her guest to "loosen her up" for group sex.
· Several party guests are shown smoking marijuana.
· Two married couples have sex together.

This is an outrage!!!These are the kinds of things our American Families are "feeding" on. Ever hear the saying "you are what you eat." We don't realize the things we let slip in. It makes our thinking become more worldly or dare I say "tolerant." Please take the time to file a complaint with your local CBS Station.

Much of the Same

Well folks, looks like we'll be waiting til next week on those babies. The China Adoption Forecast site has already updated their calculator for the 22nd on June referrals. Wonder if they have confirmation. I doubt it. Anyway, the 22nd is pretty loud. We shall see. Have a great weekend. Looks like it's gonna be smokin' here!

Did Ya Hear!

We finally have some rumors! Here's the word. We have different agencies all mentioning the 22nd. They are not confirming. But most seem to be "thinking" the 22nd. I can not imagine what it feels like to be next or "maybe" be next. I'm so emotionally all over the place now and I'm not "up" this month. But here's the deal, If they reach the 22nd, then we will be on the titter totter for July. My gut tells me that they will only get to the 26th in July. But the 27th could happen. I am so glad we'll be on vacation that week. I'm not a drinker, but I may need something to take the edge off! Any suggestions?

Passing Time

I'm trying to be constructive and not think about referrals.
Here's a picture of the pool on Memorial Day Weekend. It was yuck! Last fall I was being a bit of a penny pincher and wanted my winter cover to make it another year. (Needless to say I'll be buying a new one this year.) Anyway I've had openings like this before and usually have to spend a few bucks more on chemicals to get things back where they need to be. Well I found a new product, Green to Clean , it works great and cost 1/3 of the price of the stuff I get here at the Pool Shop. In just a few days we were swim ready!!

I also said goodbye to an old friend this weekend. I still can't believe how attached you can get it things. We finally let the Bayliner go. This was my dad's boat. Given to us right after we finished the shelter like 9 years ago. This boat holds alot of memories for me. I was eleven years old when we got this boat. I remember watching the ponies swim from the island to the mainland, all those 4th of July's spent watching fireworks, skiing, fishing. It was hard to see it go, but it hasn't seen the river in two years. DH can't ski anymore because of his back. He mainly fishes and he has a boat for that. So our reasoning was we really didn't want it to just sit there and go down.(BTW, hadn't been cranked in two yrs. started right up!) And by the time Sophie is ready to learn we will be looking a getting a newer one anyway. (DH wants a fish and ski)

Full Blown Hissie!!

I can't be still. I'm a little on the ill side. I'm not even NEXT and I'm about to have a major hissie fit! What is up ? Where are the referrals? So I did good with no rumor thing, but com'on. I fully expected to see some babies today. The Spanish blog, and yes I thought she was on vacation too, stated:

The CCAA already has matched and now it is in the allocation process.
It is not known when the allocations since many workers of the CCAA estan themselves dedicating to proceedings, managements and others, derived of the earthquake of Sichuan were sent.
They request PATIENCE to us….

I thought allocation meant matched? I don't do well with uncertainties!
