Season's Greetings!

Today is my last day at work until after Christmas. It's gonna feel good to be home for a while and not feel rushed. Maybe I can catch up on some house cleaning. Ya know, the kind where you feel like you've actually done something other than the everyday stuff. I know it's Christmas and suppose to be chilly outside, but their calling for 68 Sunday. Ye ha!!!! I'm gonna enjoy that too!!!(Christmas Day's Forecast 47) Anywho, Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

T'was the Night Before Christmas

I'm not even a mom yet and this made me cry.

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all thru the abode,Only one creature was stirring and she was cleaning the commode. The children were finally sleeping, all snug in their beds,While visions of Hot Wheels & Barbie, flipped through their heads.
The dad was snoring in front of the TV,With a half-constructed bicycle propped on his knee.So only the mom heard the reindeer hooves clatter,Which made her sigh, "Now what is the matter?!"
With toilet bowl brush still clutched in her hand,She descended the stairs and saw the old man.He was covered with ashes and soot, which fell with a shrug,"Oh great," muttered the mom, "Now I have to clean the rug."
"Ho Ho Ho!" cried Santa, "I'm glad you're awake.""Your gift was especially difficult to make.""Thanks, Santa, but all I want is time alone.""Exactly!" he chucked, "So, I've made you a clone."
"A clone?" she muttered, "What good is that?""Run along, Santa, I've no time for chit chat."Then out walked the clone - the mother's twin,Same hair, same eyes, same double chin.
"She'll cook, she'll dust, she'll mop every mess. You'll relax, take it easy, watch The Young & The Restless.""Fantastic!" the mom cheered. "My dream has come true!""I'll shop, I'll read, I'll sleep a night through!"
From the room above, the youngest did fret,"Mommy?! Come quickly, I'm scared and I'm wet."The clone replied, "I'm coming, sweetheart.""Hey," the mom smiled, "She sure knows her part."
The clone changed the small one and hummed her tune,As she bundled the child in a blanket cocoon."You're the best mommy ever. I really love you."The clone smiled and sighed, "And I love you, too."
The mom frowned and said, "Sorry, Santa, no deal."That's my child's LOVE she is trying to steal."Smiling wisely Santa said, "To me it is clear,Only one loving mother is needed here."
The mom kissed her child and tucked her in bed."Thank You, Santa, for clearing my head.I sometimes forget, it won't be very long,When they'll be too old for my cradle and song."
The clock on the mantle began to chime.Santa whispered to the clone, "It works every time."With the clone by his side Santa said, "Goodnight.Merry Christmas, dear Mom, You will be all right."

Christmas In Our Hearts

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I’m just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I’m just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing. If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child. Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the spouse. Love is kind, though harried and tired. Love doesn’t envy another’s home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way. Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can’t.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust, but giving the gift of love will endure.
Merry Christmas and lots of love to you and yours!

Merry Christmas!!!

OK, so I've not been myself lately. I apologize. I will try very hard to remove the "scroogey-tude" and have a "Hap-Hap, Happy, Fa-la-la, Merry, Jolly"(you get the picture) Holiday! We started putting up the tree last night. The lights are done anyway. The garlands up, we're still not going put all that stuff up outside. Sorry, it's too much and not enough time. But we will party as usual. Go ahead and start breaking in those vocal chords! And I'll do my best to create a warm, inviting place for us to celebrate family, friends, and most importantly our Lord, Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:9-10 "Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully, administering God’s grace in its various forms."

Starting To Catch The Holiday Spirit

I had the best Holiday with my DH. We went shopping together. See we never go together Christmas Shopping b/c he's buying for me and I've already bought for the family, yata, yata, yata. This year we are being a little selfish. And I Love It! We've gone a little over board this year on each other, but oh well. Come Christmas Morn we'll be cuddling on my new sofa watching "It's A Wonderful Life" on his new LCD 1080p HDTV! So, now that all the shopping is done. Whose hanging the lights? (Hey Nicole!!!!)
