It's so easy to fall into a rut, take things for granted, or not even notice things that you should be noticing. You both work, come home tired or your mind is running a mile a minute thinking about what the next day will bring. We have a bad day and unintentionally take it out on the other. We all fall into this in one way or another. The thing is, we can't get lazy. We must climb out. To make a marriage work, you gotta work it. Sometimes it's easy, other times....not so much. But you have to do it. Where is this coming from???? Yesterday morning, it was cold and raining, we woke up the a flat tire on my Explorer. Was it a big deal to me....no. William always fixes it. But this particular morning, he had to bundle all up, move the boat out of the shop, he got soak and wet. Then he decided to go ahead and change the oil while he was in there. On top of that, this morning he calls just to make sure I got to work ok. He takes care of me so well. These are the kinds of things I sometimes take for granted. The everyday things. When I get home today I plan on showing him my appreciation.
Happy Birthday! To My Love

T N' W,
Thank you so much for the lovely comments you left about my blog on "Life Is Great... Even In The Midst Of Pain"!! Wow... I really appreciate it!
I tried to leave a comment here last night but between Blogger problems and computer problems on my end, I never could make it to this comment screen. It wasn't for lack of trying, though!
Yes, it's easy to fall into a rut and take things for granted. You are right about that! Marriage is hard work... not the fairy tale portrayed in the movies.
My husband and I met in 1996 and married in 1998. We have been through some VERY challenging times! I am fortunate that, like you, I have a husband who really goes out of his way to be helpful in many different ways.
You're right that it's easy to "get used to" this and fail to fully appreciate it or simply say how we feel...
This is a great post about gratitude and honoring the loved ones who support us!!! :)
Showing appreciation really IS important!
Thanks for the important reminder that we all need to be conscious of this. :)
I think we all forget sometimes to express our gratitude quite as often as maybe we should.
I enjoyed reading your blog post!!
Jeanne
